Here is some pictures of a presentation workbench that I made a couple of years ago for the father-in-law's 60th birthday.
The frame is Australian Rosewood and Silky Oak paneling, the top is Silver Ash with Rosewood edging. New Guinea Rosewood was used for the vice faces. The interior shelves are Black Wattle.
The overall dimensions are; 2400mm (W) X 850mm (D) X 1000mm (H).
The finish is an oil - polyurethane mixture that was hand rubbed.
He thought it was too nice to use and it now resides in his lounge room, supporting his stereo components!
UPDATE: After almost 15 years of use the bench has come back to my workshop. I didn't plan for it. The father-in-law suffered a series of small strokes & had to go into care. The family home had to be sold & cleared so the bench turned up on the doorstep, so to speak. It received new door handles & a sand & wax, all ready for a harder life than it was used to ;)
