Well.... I got sick & tired of having to clean off the rust that accumulated on my collection of Type 11 'C' Stanley Bench planes & my commonly used planes. So this cabinet was born out of need & my inherent dislike of rusty tools.
The timber for the cabinet came from a city hospital that was undergoing major renovation & construction. I still can't believe that they were going to throw away this Northern Silky Oak... & I was lucky enough to grab a goodly amount.
The dimensions are (H) 765mm X (W) 875mm X (D) 320mm. The dividers are Silver Ash. I used 5mm glass that was glued in with a thin silicone bead to help keep the doors flat. The cabinet is attached to the wall with 2 hefty french cleats. I fitted 3 LED down lights to give the planes a bit of sparkle.
